The GENEVA staff continues to press on in hopeful anticipation of the day our facilities are able to open. While we don’t know when that will be, here is our plan as things unfold:
GENEVA is committed to the health and safety of those we serve, and therefore align with government and local health authority guidelines.
At the end of April we expect to hear from Governor Whitmer regarding our state’s reopening timeline and continuing restrictions. Shortly following her address, GENEVA leadership will meet with local health authorities regarding implications and considerations for our ministry.
In the meantime, the Christian Camp and Conference Association (CCCA) is working with the CDC to consider the best practices for camps nationwide in light of COVID-19.
GENEVA’s Board of Directors will meet in early May to consider the State’s opening plan, the local health department’s input, and the national considerations from CCCA and the CDC to determine the implications for GENEVA. Our hope is to communicate with you in mid-May regarding the beginning of the summer camp ministry and eventually the plan for the fall retreat season.
In the midst of all this waiting, GENEVA is filled with gratitude for the prayers, patience, encouragement, and many expressions of support and care we’ve received from you. We look forward to continuing our partnership in faith development with churches, families, and all our friends of GENEVA through these days and beyond.
Health to you and your loved ones,
The GENEVA staff
