Spring Swim is an opportunity for us to come together as a community and support a local family in need! After taking a couple of years off, GENEVA is proud to again host the Spring Swim, organized by Joy99.3 FM. It is a fundraising event to benefit a family in need in our community. On the first Saturday of spring, participants gather at GENEVA to jump into the lake. The money raised by the participants for the event, through donations from their family, friends, and from local businesses, is given to the chosen family.
This year’s swim is going to benefit Evan Potter and his family. Evan was diagnosed with a non-cancerous and inoperable brain tumor on his thalamus in August 2014, which causes daily migraines and Postural Tachycardia Syndrome. Evan also has increased heart rate and uncontrolled blood pressure. He takes several medications a day, has weekly trips to the hospital for IVs, and occasionally spends weeks in the hospital at a time. Evan is a junior at Zeeland West High School.
Evan’s family pays a large amount each month in medication and medical bills, some of which are not covered by insurance. We’re asking you to help us reach our goal of $25,400 total to cover current expenses that are due AND a year’s worth of medication for Evan.
When: March 23, 2019. Event begins at 9am. Participants will jump into the lake at 10am.
Where: Camp Geneva, 3995 Lakeshore Dr. N Holland, MI 49424
Who: You, your friends, family, Bible study group, coworkers, all are welcome!
