Activity & Recreation Center (ARC)
Our Activity & Recreation Center (ARC) is a shared space available to guest group’s during their time onsite. The ARC features a full sized gymnasium and game room that can be used for the following recreation opportunities:
- Basketball
- Volleyball
- Pickleball
- Dodgeball
- Other gym games
- Ping Pong
- Foosball
- Air Hockey
- Sub soccer
Emergency Procedures
In the event an emergency occurs while onsite at GENEVA, guests are responsible to follow these emergency procedures.
Addresses
- The address for our Shores campus is 3995 Lakeshore Drive N Holland, MI 49424
- The address of our Pines campus is 17000 Quincy Street Holland, MI 49424
Active Shooter
- In the event of an active shooter, guests shall follow the run, hide, fight principles.
- 911 should be contacted via phone or text as soon as you are able to do so safely.
Fire
- In the event of a fire alarm or fire, guests must exit the building and gather in a safe location with their group.
- When it’s safe to do so, the fire shall be reported by calling 911. After alerting 911, GENEVA’s host shall be notified via radio.
- Guests shall not re-enter the evacuated building until an all-clear has been given.
Medical Emergency
- In the event of a medical emergency, groups shall dial 911 for assistance.
- GENEVA has two AED’s onsite. Our Shores campus AED is located in the upper-level lobby of the GENEVA Center, and our Pines campus AED can be found in the Pines Lobby connected to our Pines Dining hall.
- The closest hospital and emergency room to GENEVA is Holland Hospital located at 602 Michigan Avenue Holland, MI 49423.
- In the event of a guest injury or death while on grounds, group leaders are responsible to notify GENEVA’s host as soon as possible.
Severe Weather
- Guest groups are responsible to monitor weather alerts while on grounds. GENEVA is located in Park Township in Ottawa county of Michigan.
- If a weather warning is issued, guests shall take shelter indoors.
- In the event of a tornado warning, the safest place to be on our Shores campus is in the lower level of the GENEVA Center. On our Pines campus, the safest place to be is in the Pines dining hall away from the windows. If guests are not able to get to these locations, they shall seek shelter on the lowest level of the building that they are currently in making sure to avoid exterior windows and doors.
Grounds Use
Our campus was intentionally designed for your enjoyment! We invite you to enjoy the following during your time onsite:
- Soak in the beauty of Lake Michigan from one of our overlooks
- Take in a sunset from down on the beach
- Reflect using our dune bluff Prayer Path
- Play in the open spaces and on the playgrounds
- Relax in our Adirondacks
- Share stories around a campfire
- Go for a walk on our Wood Chip trail (located on the Pines side of our campus)
- Play a round of frisbee golf: GENEVA Frisbee Golf Map (*Frisbees only; disc golf discs are not permitted)
Lake & Beach Use
- Guests are welcome to enjoy our Lake Michigan and Big Pine beachfronts while onsite. Beyond GENEVA’s property lines, guests are welcome to walk the shores of Lake Michigan but must stay below the high-water line when doing so.
- Accessing our Lake Michigan beachfront shall be done using our North or South Landing stairways. To protect our dune and prevent erosion, guests are required to keep off the dunes.
- To enter the water, group’s must provide a certified lifeguard(s) and follow the guidelines established in the booking contract. Entrance to the water is prohibited when Holland State Park is at red flag, beach advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service, during storms, and/or when GENEVA staff deem entry unsafe.
- In the winter, guests are prohibited from form going on the ice that forms on Lake Michigan and Big Pine Lake.
- Fires are not permitted on our beaches.
Lodging & Meeting Spaces
Lodging areas and meeting spaces are assigned to specific groups for their sole use. All guests are asked to respect the reserved spaces of other groups. For more information about your group’s spaces, contact your group leader!
Lost & Found
Left something at GENEVA? The best way for you to start the process of retrieving your item(s) is by filling out our lost and found form.
Meals
- Meals are prepared by our team for you to enjoy. Please arrive at the dining hall at your group’s assigned time to come through the line.
- To learn more about your dining location and time, connect with your group leader!
- Shirts and shoes are required within our dining halls.
- Guests with food allergies that were submitted ahead of time can connect with a member of our dining services team when coming through the line to receive their accommodations.
- We typically assign tables in our dining hall to ensure that we have space for all guests on grounds. Please make sure to sit at the tables with your group’s name on them.
- When finished eating, dishes are to be brought to our dish return.
Quiet Hours
Quiet hours run from 11:00pm – 7:00am on our campus in accordance with our township’s noise curfew
Vending – Coffee & Beverages
- Complimentary coffee and tea are available 24/7 in the GENEVA Center lobby
- The GENEVA Center lobby also houses a vending machine, which offers a variety of chilled beverages for purchase
